Ghost in the Tundra : the abandoned city of Promyshlennyi, Vorkuta area, Russia
Promyshlennyi is a small city located in Vorkuta area. I can't find any valid information on its history. It is said that the city was abandoned more than 20 years ago, possibly before the end of USSR. Any information about the city history is welcome.

Also there is said that Promyshlennyi was a small miner's city, 60 kilometers from Vorkuta. The reason of its death is banal and simple - After socialism fall and capitalism came to Russia, the mines became unprofitable and were closed. People lost their job and were to leave the city and look for job in another places.
According to Janes there was an aircraft factory there.
