Abandoned planes on the old airport of Entebbe, Uganda
Entebbe International Airport is the main international airport of Uganda. It is located near the town of Entebbe, on the shores of Lake Victoria, and about 35 km (21 miles) from the capital Kampala. The place were those planes remain is called the old airport. Why do they repaint abandoned planes ?

I could be wrong but that paint looks like a protective layer that can be easily removed. A lot of the US military aircraft stored in the 'boneyard' have this covering particularly over the cockpit to protect the interior and canopy from sun damage. It's normally only done on aircraft that are more likely to be returned to service at short notice (usually the more recent arrivals).

ReplyDeleteMaybe the painting is for filming work? the blue front end looks like it has been set for CGI or green screen like work...
